My Forage System

About us

Why I created Mon Système Fourrager

I'm a grower, like you. And like many, I've been looking for a simple, effective tool to manage my fields, my silage and my animals - and haven't found it.

The MSF platform was born out of this need: a solution built in the field, to meet real agricultural realities.

I'm a beef cattle and sheep producer in Mont-Laurier, in the Laurentians. Like many producers, I was faced with a simple observation: forage systems are at the heart of profitability, but there was no tool capable of managing them in an integrated way - from the soil to the animal.

My interest in forage systems began during my PhD in animal science. It wasn't the subject of my thesis, but I could already see their strategic importance in improving the performance of my herds. I attended training courses, deepened my knowledge... and realized the limits of the tools available.
It all started during my post-doctoral internship at Lactanet. Unlike field crops or the dairy sector, forage systems were sorely lacking in integrated management tools. Everything was fragmented: Excel files, paper analysis results, unconnected soil data and so on. Nothing made it possible to monitor and link up the whole system.
And yet, this lack of integration has concrete consequences:
- Field practices that undermine animal performance
- Agronomists who can't work well together
- Decisions taken without reliable data to measure their effects
I also realized another issue: for 30 years, we've been telling growers about good practices... but it's still hard to get them adopted. Why is this? Because we often have neither the data to detect the problem, nor the tools to compare solutions, nor the time to implement them.
It was in response to all this that I created My Forage System.
I wanted a solution:
- Who integrates all data from soil to animal
- Which makes it possible todetect real problems
- Whosuggests concrete, measurable and applicable solutions
- And above all, that respects producers' daily liveswithout adding to their mental workload

"I know how demanding it is to run a farm. I've been there. And that's why I want MSF to be a tool that makes management simpler, more profitable and less stressful for those who feed Quebec."

- Maxime Leduc, founder of Mon Système Fourrager
